Dr Samuel Hardy (104-1879), son of Tristam Hardy and Kezia Frazer was a manufacturer of medicinal products and produced Hardy's Salve and other patent medicines, starting in 1836. Christopher Dyer (1819-1881) son of Christopher Dyer and Betsey Porter. He married Almira Lttlefield daughter of Darius Littlefield and Lydia Howard. Abington Massachusetts. One daughter Josephine Louise Dyer married John Prescott Varnum (1854-1888) son of John Prescott Varnum and Nancy Greene. John Prescott was a leading journalist of Jacksonville, Fla., and connected with several leading papers in that State. He was a bright young newspaper man and wielded a versatile pen. He gave promise of distinguished success in his calling, until overcome by the deadly malaria of Florida. He died at his wife's home at Avon, Mass., at the early age of thirty-four years. From "The Varnums of Dracutt (in Massachusetts) a history of George Varnum, his son Samuel who came to Ipswich about 1635, and grandsons Thomas, John and Joseph, who settled in Dracutt, and their descendants"

Mary married on January 16, 1890, Herman Clifford Holmes (1861-1943), son of Captain Hiram Holmes (1819-188) and Nancy Avery (1827-1892), daughter of Peter L Avery and Betsey Chapman. Captain Homes was the son of Shubel Holmes and Deborah Small. From "History of Barnstable County, Massachusetts." According to "Genealogical Record of the Dedham Branch of the Avery Family in America," Jane Greenough Avery Carter, Susie Perry: Hiram worked in family business and after eleven years experience in the business in which his father was engaged, March 1, 1888, purchased the stock of his father and continued the business successfully until January of 1890, when he sold out to accept a lucrative position which had previously been tendered him in the firm of "Wilcox. Crittenden & Co.", manufacturers, at Middletown, Conn. He graduated from the Commercial Department of Wesleyan Academy at Wilbraham, Mass., and is considered a thorough business young man, honorable and upright in all his dealing. He united with Center Church in 1884, and from that time has proved an earnest worker, filling several official positions in the church, beside positions of trust outside of it. Mary Dyer Homes was a graduate of the Provincetown High School, class of 1881, and successfully engaged in teaching until her marriage. She united with the Methodist Church in 1883.

Hattie M. Dyer (1867-1949) daughter of Isaac Atkins Dyer and Lorena Sparks. She married, William Wallace Johnson (1857-1916) son of Joseph P. Johnson and Mary Atkins at Provincetown by the Rev. George Brightman on November 18 1901. She was a librarian.
Lorena Sparks (1841-1923) daughter of David Sparks, (son of James Sparks and Abigail Cook) and Rebecca Dyer (d. of
Elijah Dyer and Rebekah Rich). Lorena was wife of Isaac Atkins Dyer. Her father, David Sparks was a mariner and master of several vessels. He was also part owner of the Northwind in 1859, together with his brothers, Heman and Harvey, and his nephews, Paul Atkins and Franklin Higgins. After the death of his first wife, Rebecca, David Sparks married (2d) Martha D. (Watkins) Small, widow of Isaac Small who had died in 1844 of yellow fever. Martha was born on June 5, 1822, and was a daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Dyer) Watkins, of Truro. Martha died on May 17, 1892, and David died on Aug. 6, 1897.
A great-great-niece of Mary (Sparks) Young, Josephine Johnson, recalls an anecdote which her grandmother, Lorena (Sparks) Dyer, enjoyed telling about the independence of Mary (Sparks) Young. She (Lorena) visited her Aunt Mary and noted that the parlor floor was covered wall-to-wall with newspapers. She commented, "Aunt Mary, I thought you said the new minister is coming to call." To which her Aunt replied, "So he is. So he is. But I've just washed the floor and nobody is going to track dirt onto it." From Sparks Quarterly and Family Association

Charles Lee Norton (1863-1927) son of Thomas Flint Norton and Eunice G. Edgecomb. Husband of Emily Small Dyer. Thomas Flint Norton, son of Samuel Norton and Anna Davis. According to Mr. Norton was a farmer by occupation and settled first in Livermore, where several of his children were born. In March, i860, he exchanged his farm with William Frederic Johnson for the Capt. Ezekiel Hinkley farm in Industry, on which he spent the remainder of his life. He was a man who had no enemies, and a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. During the last of his life he was a great though uncomplaining sufferer. He died in Industry, Feb. 18, 1887.
